Papaya - Hand Dyed Mermaid's Tale blend BFL Seacell 100g
The fibre base is a new blend called Mermaid’s Tale
Fibre Content:
70% BFL (Bluefaced Leicester)
20% Seacell
Each braid is approx. 100g
Colourway: Papaya
BFL is one of my all time favourite fibre to spin, it has medium length staples with a soft touch, and it spins beautifully.
Seacell is a plant based fibre made from seaweeds, the process is similar to Lyocell which does not use harmful chemicals and it employs a closed loop production, meaning the solvent can be used again and again. This offers a good alternative to bamboo fibre which is arguably the biggest greenwash in recent textile history.
For felters: BFL will felt whilst the Seacell adds interesting textures.
Care: hand wash only in cold or lukewarm water, dry flat
p.s. in case you are interested in learning about why bamboo fibre is bad for you and the environment, I have written a blog post which you can read here.

*All care have been taken during the dyeing process, however some residual dye may still remain but should wash out after one or two washes. As with all hand dyed items colour variations between batches or even within the same batch are normal.
**We try our best to capture the true colours however all screens are different, the colours you see on screen may be different to the colours in person.
