Fibre Arts Friday Resurrection

Many years ago I used to keep a blog themed Fibre Arts Friday, there were a few of us who each blogged about our fibre arts pursuits on Fridays. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed reading what other people were up to in their creative world. However for some reason or another it gradually got petered out and I often wondered what happened to my fellow bloggers, but I haven’t been back to Blogger for years and, as time goes by I became scared to go back there for I fear my blog might resent me for neglecting it. I do like the opportunity to talk more in detail about my fibre-ry projects so I hereby decide to revive Fibre Arts Friday for me, on this new blog on my website. I hope you will join me on my journey and share your projects and makes.

So for the inaugural resurrection of Fibre Arts Friday I will show and tell a few projects I’ve working on in the past couple of weeks, these projects are very much live WIPs, as opposed to the many other WIPs that I periodically work on and not quite UFOs yet 😆

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you might have seen me posting about these projects, first up:

The Picdidilly Wrap wip

The Crocdidilly Wrap

Test Crochet for Pretty Twisted Knots I’m nearly at the halfway point, using my hand dyed Kidsilk Lace in the colourway Athena for this part.

I am also working on another test - this one is a new collaboration between myself and the talented knitwear designer Dominique Trad - a beautiful relaxed knit of crescent shaped shawl with alternating garter stripes and easy lace panels:

I am busy dyeing up different colour combos for this shawl and Dom and I will be offering Moondancer Shawl Kits in November.

And finally, last but not least, of course I couldn’t resist the Westknits Mystery Knitalong 2021: Shawlography. Unless you haven’t been on social media in the fibre world you could not avoid seeing the thousands of projects in this MKAL. I have knit a few Westknits designs and I love the way Stephen brings fun and zest into knitting, his patterns are always well thought out, clear and easy to follow. We are currently in week 2 of the MKAL and I am having so much fun! I’m loving all the colour interactions and different techniques, it’s certainly very engaging 😍

Phew! I think that’s me for now, looking at these WIPs makes me realise how busy I’d been and you will be excused to think I might be a little obsessed 😂

What have you been working on? I’d love to see your WIPs, UFOs and of course FOs 😃
